Healing the Pain of Separation

tehablo

One of the deeper wounds from the COVID pandemic has been the pain of separation from our loved ones and our communities.

We all were born with an innate need and desire to connect and bond with others. This connection helps us heal and endure hard times. At the very time when the pandemic inflicted painful life changes and illness, we were asked to stay away from the ones who could have best supported us in our distress.

Gratefully social distancing decreased the spread of illness and death. It also opened wounds of separation and loneliness. I have noticed it is harder for me to be in large groups, and sometimes I withdraw from friends in ways I wouldn't have before.

The gift in this wound is an opportunity to re-connect with our friends, our families, and our community. Connection with our loved ones will weave our hearts back together.
